Each flavor has already been paired for you — simply choose your Dream and your size.
Signature cake pricing includes a 3-layer, 2-filling cake with a clean signature finish. Custom themes, detailed decorations, edible images, florals, specialty toppers, fondant work, metallic details, and other custom elements are priced separately.
Please allow at least 72 hours' notice for all orders, including flavor requests outside the Dream Collection.

For my daughter's birthday I needed assistance as I was recovering from surgery. I searched local bakeries after first trying my favorites I've used in the past and discovering they were both out of business.
I looked for something local and read all about taste your dreams and it sounded right.
We ordered sugar cookies decorated with Royal icing as well as chocolate fudge filled chocolate cupcakes with vanilla buttercream frosting and some edible decor. Nut allergies were a concern for some of our guests. The theme was unicorns!
We discussed decor and flavors, I gave some sketches of our ideas for decor and taste your dreams handled the rest. She delivered to our doorstep and was very thorough during the entire process about what would work best given all of our preferences and ideas.
She also explained when I asked what would be the best way to store the items based on their ingredients up until the time of the party.

I needed a short-notice custom cake made for my wife's birthday, and to say Melissa knocked it out of the park is an understatement! She made a 3 layer chocolate/oreo cake with vegan buttercream frosting, along with picture perfect decorations (my wife is recently very into gardening, see the beautiful flowers in the attached photo), and all guests at the party agreed - it was absolutely delicious! Vegan desserts can occasionally be too sweet, but this cake was exactly the right level of sweetness, and we couldn't believe how moist it was. Simply divine! Communication was also terrific, and she even delivered to our house the morning of my wife's birthday - can't say enough good things, look no further for your baked needs!

How do I place a custom order?
Getting started is simple! Call my AI Cake Assistant at (734) 237-3445. The first thing I need to know is the date you need your order, followed by what you’re looking for so I can determine pricing. My Cake Assistant will gather the basic details for me, and I’ll review your request and follow up with your custom quote.
How far in advance should I order?
I ask for at least 3 days’ notice whenever possible. More notice is always appreciated, especially for weekends, larger orders, or detailed custom designs. Since my availability can change week to week, I recommend reaching out as soon as you know your date so I can confirm whether I’m available.
Do you make custom designs?
Yes! I create custom cakes based on your colors, theme, celebration, and inspiration. Each design is created especially for your order. However, I don't make inappropriate or super gory cakes, those just aren't my style.
What areas do you serve?
I serve Ypsilanti, Ann Arbor, Belleville, Canton, and surrounding Southeast Michigan areas. Delivery or meet-up availability depends on the order date, distance, and size of the order.
Do you offer pickup or delivery?
Yes. I may offer delivery depending on my availability and the location of your event. Delivery is a separate charge from the cost of your cake or dessert order and is calculated based on mileage. I currently use $0.76 per mile as the mileage rate, based on the 2026 IRS business mileage rate effective July 1, 2026.
Do you offer vegan or special-diet options?
I may be able to offer vegan options for most- cakes, or cookies. Please let me know about any dietary needs or food allergies when you place your request. My kitchen is not guaranteed to be allergen-free.
How much does a custom cake cost?
My custom cakes start around $75, with final pricing based on the size, number of servings, flavor, fillings, design, and level of detail. For the quickest estimate, call my AI Cake Assistant at (734) 237-3445 with the date you need your order and what you’re looking for. I’ll review the details before your final quote is confirmed.
Is a payment required to reserve my date?
Yes. I require a 50% deposit of the total order amount to reserve your date. The remaining balance is due one week before your baked item is needed. Your date is not considered reserved until the deposit has been received.
Do you accept wedding and large event orders?
Yes. I accept wedding cakes and larger event orders based on my availability. I strongly recommend having your venue selected before finalizing your wedding cake design, since the venue, setup space, event style, and delivery details can all affect the cake design and overall plan.
For weddings and larger events, I recommend reaching out as early as possible. Pricing is customized based on: your the wedding season, servings, flavors, design, delivery, setup, and any additional event needs.

Hi, I’m Melissa, Founder and owner of Taste Your Dreams bakery located in Ypsilanti, Michigan, just outside of Ann Arbor. I’ve been baking for more than 13 years and have several years of professional bakery and pastry experience.
What I love most about what I do is combining cake and edible art into one final masterpiece for my customers to enjoy. I often work from inspiration photos, desired elements, colors, themes, and design ideas, then recreate the overall look as closely as possible while allowing for small variations that make each cake unique.
I also love working with the balance of flavors, not just the appearance of the cake. If you have a custom flavor idea or combination in mind, I’m always open to creating something unique and making the flavors work beautifully together.
